چکیده

Abstract There is a lack of safe and effective technology to monitor intracranial pressure accurately non‐destructively. In this paper, the relationship between reduced scattering coefficient in clinical patients under different brain edema states was studied. First, MC simulation model constructed based on types edema. The results laid foundation for ICP detection. Second, changes caused by were studied application. It found that when patient developed edema, showed corresponding changes. Finally, mathematical invasive established. sensitivity 834 nm light tissue higher than 692 light, which could be used reflect physiological state.

The Effects of Estrogen Receptors' Antagonist on Brain Edema, Intracranial Pressure and Neurological Outcomes after Traumatic Brain Injury in Rat

Background: In previous studies, the neuroprotective effect of 17&beta-estradiol in diffuse traumatic brain injury has been shown. This study used ICI 182,780, a non-selective estrogen receptor antagonist, to test the hypothesis that the neuroprotective effect of 17&beta-estradiol in traumatic brain injury is mediated by the estrogen receptors. Methods: The ovariectomized rats were divided into...

The Effects of Shilajit on Brain Edema, Intracranial Pressure and Neurologic Outcomes following the Traumatic Brain Injury in Rat

Objective(s): Brain edema is one of the most serious causes of death within the first few days after trauma brain injury (TBI). In this study we have investigated the role of Shilajit on brain edema, blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability, intracranial pressure (ICP) and neurologic outcomes following brain trauma.   Materials and Methods: Diffuse traumatic brain trauma was indu...

Relationship between apathy and tumor location, size, and brain edema in patients with intracranial meningioma

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between apathy and tumor location, size, and brain edema in patients with intracranial meningioma. METHODS We enrolled 65 consecutive patients with meningioma and 31 normal controls matched for age, gender, and education. The patients were divided into frontal or non-frontal (NF) meningioma groups based on magnetic resonance i...

Human neuronal changes in brain edema and increased intracranial pressure

Functional and molecular changes associated with pathophysiological conditions are relatively easily detected based on tissue samples collected from patients. Population specific cellular responses to disease might remain undiscovered in samples taken from organs formed by a multitude of cell types. This is particularly apparent in the human cerebral cortex composed of a yet undefined number of...
